Apple iPhone 7 on sale via Amazon India with up to Rs 17,000 discount

The iPhone 7 is available at as low as Rs 44,700 on Amazon India.

After Flipkart’s Fathers’ Day offer on iPhone 6, Amazon India is now offering discounts on the Apple iPhone 7. These discounts are across the different storage variants of the iPhone 7, with the lowest priced at Rs 44,700. In addition to the price cuts, Amazon India is also offering some buyback offers. Let’s take a look at all the discounts and buybacks, and analyze how profitable these deals are.

Starting with the discounts, the Apple iPhone 7 32GB variant has received a price cut of close to Rs 16,000. Which means, as opposed to its earlier price tag of Rs 60,000, the smartphone is now available for purchase at Rs 44,749 to be precise. The iPhone 7 128GB variant has received a price cut of about Rs 17,000, going down from Rs 70,000 to now being available for Rs 52,972. On the other hand, the iPhone 7 jet black color 256GB variant is now available for Rs 66,439, down from the earlier price of Rs 80,000.

Do note, that along with the storage variant factor, the price cut also varies by color option. For instance, a 32GB rose gold iPhone 7 has received a discount of about Rs 14,622, while a 32GB gold variant of iPhone 7 got a price cut of Rs 15,001. That may look like a minor contrast, but it makes a difference when making a purchase. ALSO READ: Vivo Y66 gets Rs 1,000 price-cut; now available for Rs 13,990

Additionally, there are also some minor discounts on the 128GB iPhone 7 Product RED model. The red color variant is now priced Rs 8,000 lower from its earlier price. As compared to its earlier price tag of Rs 70,000, it is now available for Rs 61,999. While these may not be the lowest price cut iPhone 7 has received, but the discounts are definitely worth considering.

Apart from the iPhone 7, some Apple oPhone 7 Plus variants have also received minor price cuts. The lowest priced iPhone 7 Plus on Amazon India right now is the rose gold 128GB variant, which is available at a discount of Rs 16,500, now priced at Rs 65,499, down from Rs 82,000. ALSO READ: Apple iPhone 6 now available on Flipkart for Rs 21,999; but should you care?

Apple iPhone 7/iPhone 7 plus buy back offers

On top of discounts, Amazon India is also offering some buy back options for its customers. Essentially, you can exchange your existing or old smartphone during the purchase of the iPhone 7, to receive an additional discount. This additional discount is basically the worth of your old phone, which gets deducted from the final price you pay for the new phone.

Let’s evaluate how good the exchange offers are. If we take the example of the iPhone 7 32GB variant in black color, Amazon India shows an exchange offer of up to Rs 13,160. In the option below if I add my Apple iPhone 6s up for exchange, Amazon India is offering me a discount of Rs 12,160. Which means, if I now purchase the particular iPhone 7 model, it will cost me around Rs 32,589. For that matter, the exchange price for a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge also remains at Rs 12,160. ALSO READ: Apple now offers 2TB iCloud storage for Rs 650 per month; family sharing introduced

While that may not sound like a bad deal right, look at it this way for a minute. Just for reference, I evaluated the resale value of my iPhone 6s 32GB on SahiValue, it showed me a bracket of Rs 27,000 to Rs 33,000 that I could get if I sell off my device. Hence, the overall discount on the iPhone 7 is pretty good, but the exchange offer just looks like a bad deal to make. We’d rather recommend, if you have a device at home that you have no use of, you sell it off separately, instead of in the particular exchange deal. RELATED: Apple iOS 11: Release date, device compatibility, key features and everything else you need to know
